University in inZOI is an optional educational path available for Zois, allowing them to pursue higher education after completing high school. Introduced during the game’s early access phase, it offers a functional, though currently streamlined, way for Zois to enhance certain skills, adding a layer of depth to a Zoi’s life simulation.
Overview
Attending university serves primarily as a means to enhance specific skills via structured academic progression. It provides a semi-structured educational experience integrated into the game. However, no career paths currently mandate a university degree for employment or advancement in the early access version.
Eligibility
- Only Young Adult Zois are eligible to apply for and attend university.
- Younger Zois (Child, Adolescent and Teenager) must attend elementary, middle school and high school as part of their standard development and cannot enroll in university.
Applying to University
Applying to university is done through the Zoi's smartphone while located on a household lot.
- Access Smartphone: Press the P button or click the purple smartphone icon near the Zoi's portrait at the bottom of the screen.
- Open School App: Click the School app icon (usually found on the lower left of the phone screen).
- Navigate and Apply: Go to the University tab within the School App. Select one of the available degree programs and click Apply.
Enrollment is automatic and instantaneous upon application. There are currently no specific admission requirements or university fees. The Zoi will receive a text message confirmation, and their Zoi information panel and schedule will update immediately to reflect their enrollment.
Players can review their Zoi's degree details, including location, schedule, academic level, and attendance record, by accessing the My Information section within the Career App on the smartphone after enrollment.
Available Degrees
As of early access, there are three degree programs available. These primarily serve to help Zois enhance certain skills more efficiently.

Attending University
Schedule and Travel
Once enrolled, a Zoi's schedule automatically updates. University classes occur three days a week. Classes run from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- A pop-up notification will appear on the left side of the screen when it's time for the Zoi to go to university.
- Players can choose for the Zoi to Go (travel by bus) or Travel by Car if the household owns one.
- The Zoi will automatically travel to the designated university building (Youngsung School in Dowon or Bliss Bay Public School in Bliss Bay).
- Players can potentially edit the schedule or cancel classes via the pop-up, but cancelling affects the Zoi's attendance record and Academic Level negatively.
Rabbit Hole Experience
Attending classes at the university building is currently a rabbit hole experience.
- The Zoi will enter the building and become uncontrollable for the duration of the class hours.
- Players retain full control over other Zois in the household who are not at university or work.
- Limited interaction is possible: by clicking the attending Zoi's portrait in the sidebar, players can sometimes choose specific activities or focuses for them to perform during class (e.g., study hard, take notes).
- Random occurrences or events may trigger during class time, potentially impacting the Zoi's academic performance and mood.
Academic Performance and Tasks
A Zoi's academic success and progression are primarily determined by completing assigned tasks, often referred to as homework.
- Tasks: At the end of each university day, the Zoi receives 2 tasks with a short deadline (only a few hours). Prioritizing these tasks is important, unless the Zoi's basic needs (like hunger or energy) are critically low.
- Completion Requirements: Tasks typically involve using a computer or a bookshelf. Players must ensure the Zoi uses the correct item (for example selecting an advanced book instead of a beginner one if specified) or selects the appropriate homework option on the computer.
- Performance Tracking: Completing tasks on time improves academic performance (tracked as Academic Level). Failing to meet deadlines, or skipping classes, results in performance drops. Academic performance can be monitored via the School tab on the smartphone. The Zoi's current Academic Level can also be viewed in the Career App under My Information.
While attending classes is necessary to maintain performance and avoid penalties for absences, completing homework is the main driver of academic progress towards graduation.
Graduation
- There is currently no specific deadline countdown or clear in-game notification system indicating when graduation will occur.
- Graduation typically takes between 8 to 10 in-game days to achieve, though this can vary depending on the day of the week the Zoi enrolled.
- Upon successful graduation, the Zoi's profile updates to include a university diploma.
- In the current development stage (early access), it is unclear if graduating provides any direct benefits or advantages related to career performance, as no jobs require a degree.
Dropping Out
Zois can withdraw (drop out) from university at any time.
- Process: To drop out, open the Career App on the smartphone, navigate to the My Information screen, and click the Drop Out button.
- Warning: A confirmation prompt will appear, warning the player that dropping out will reset the Zoi's academic performance entirely.
- Confirmation: If the player confirms the decision, the dropout is automatic and instantaneous. The Zoi receives a message from the school confirming the withdrawal.
- Consequences: All academic progress made in the degree program is lost. If the Zoi decides to reapply for university later (either for the same or a different degree), they must start the program from the beginning. Dropping out is generally not recommended unless deemed necessary for the player's goals.
Career Conflicts
Zois cannot attend university and hold a full-time or part-time career simultaneously in the current version of inZOI.
- Getting a Job While Enrolled: If a player attempts to assign a career to a Zoi who is currently enrolled in university, the game will automatically drop the Zoi from their degree program, causing them to lose all academic progress.
- Enrolling While Employed: Conversely, if a Zoi is employed and then enrolls in university, they will automatically be removed from their job without prior warning.
Players should ensure a Zoi is either pursuing a career or university, but not attempt both concurrently to avoid losing progress in either path.
