Cleanliness
Cleanliness represents how clean or dirty the home and lot are for the family living there. If the level gets too low, it can affect relationships and make Zois dirty faster. Letting a home go unmanaged will reduce cleanliness, so take care of your space.
Cleanliness Level
Check the cleanliness level from the Home Information screen or by selecting the house in Edit City.
How to Clean
Click on dirty floors or furniture to clean them and restore their shine. To clean, you will need a broom or a vacuum cleaner. Press the Build Mode button, go to Furniture - Bathroom, and select the vacuum cleaner icon to purchase one. If a Zoi's clothes get dirty, use a washing machine to do the laundry.
Cleanliness refers to how clean or dirty the home and lot are for the Zois living there. Maintaining a clean home is important for a Zoi's well-being.
Importance of Cleanliness
Keeping the home clean is crucial for several reasons:
- Mood and Hygiene: A low cleanliness level negatively affects the mood of Zois and causes their Hygiene need to decrease faster. Dirty clothes specifically make a Zoi Uncomfortable.
- Relationships: Poor home cleanliness can strain relationships between family members. Zois might avoid interacting with other Zois who are wearing dirty clothes.
Checking Cleanliness Level
You can monitor the cleanliness status in a few ways:
- Home Information Screen: Select the Home Information option on the right side of the screen or by selecting the house in Edit City. This displays a Cleanliness meter for the home and a counter for the number of Dirty Zois (Zois needing a bath or clean clothes).
- Visual Cues: A dirty home will become visually apparent. Furnishings, floors, and rugs will develop a marbled, dusty appearance.
Cleaning the Home
Keeping the home tidy requires cleaning dirty surfaces and objects. Zois who clean their own home will increase their Housework skill.
Required Cleaning Items
To clean the home, Zois need specific tools. These can be purchased in Build Mode:
- Click the Build Mode button (or [I] key).
- Select Furniture.
- Go to the Bathroom tab.
- Scroll down or click the vacuum icon to find cleaning items.
Available items include:

Place at least one cleaning item in the home for Zois to use. All items can be used repeatedly.
Methods of Cleaning
Manual Cleaning (Clicking)
You can direct a Zoi to clean specific spots:
- Click on dirty floors or furniture.
- If clicking the floor, you can choose which available cleaning item to use.
- Cleaning a section of floor ('Clean Here') is often more efficient as it cleans surrounding furnishings simultaneously. Cleaning individual furniture pieces is less effective.
Commanding a Zoi to Clean
This is the most efficient way to clean larger areas:
- Select the Zoi and choose a cleaning action, or click directly on a cleaning item (like a mop or vacuum).
- Choose the option to clean multiple times (e.g., "Clean 3 times" or "Clean 5 times," depending on the tool).
- The Zoi will automatically move around the home, cleaning dirty areas until the commanded number of actions is complete or the house is clean. You may need to repeat the command for very large or dirty homes.
Hiring a Cleaner
If Zois are too busy or you prefer professional help, you can hire a cleaner: 1. Click the Zoi's Smartphone. 2. Go to Pocket Market. 3. Select the Home Services tab, then Cleaning. 4. Choose a service:
* Spick-And-Span Cleaning: Costs 100, stays for approximately one hour. * Good-As-New-Cleaning: Costs 500, stays for approximately two hours.
5. After purchasing, the cleaner will arrive shortly. You'll receive a notification. 6. Important: You must click on the cleaner when they arrive and invite them in before they start working. 7. Cleaners will clean floors and surfaces, and also tidy up by putting away items like books, throwing out trash, and cleaning dirty dishes.
Cleaning Clothes (Do Laundry)
Zois' clothes get dirty over time and need washing. Wearing dirty clothes makes Zois Uncomfortable and can negatively impact social interactions.
Requirements
A washing machine is required. Currently, there are no laundromat services available.
Buying a Washing Machine
- Enter Build Mode.
- Select Furniture, then Bathroom.
- Select the washing machine icon.
- Choose a model (multiple options available, all perform the same function) and place it in a suitably spacious location in the home.
How to Wash Clothes
- Adults and Teens: Click on the washing machine and select 'Wash Laundry'. The Zoi will then use the machine.
- Children: Children cannot do laundry themselves. Select the child, click the washing machine, and choose 'Ask them to do Laundry'. Select an available family member currently at home from the menu. The chosen helper and the child will then do the laundry together.
Automating Laundry
You can encourage a Zoi to do laundry autonomously:
- Open the Zoi Card.
- Go to Edit Preferences.
- Select Laundry as a preference.
