Fire
Fires are unpredictable events that can occur in inZOI, adding an element of risk and realism to the game. They can cause significant damage and pose a danger to Zois.
What Causes Fire

Fires in inZOI can originate from several sources:
- Electronic Devices: Using electronics carries a random chance of starting a fire. The risk increases if many electronic devices are used simultaneously, especially if crammed into one area (wall-mounted TVs have been noted as a potential trigger). Malfunctioning appliances can also be a cause.
- Cooking Mishaps: Mistakes made while cooking can potentially lead to a fire.
- Intentional Actions: A Zoi might start a fire deliberately (arson). If suspected, they may be questioned as part of an investigation. The ability for players to directly order a Zoi to commit arson has not been fully implemented.
- City Fire Prevention Rate: The overall chance of fires occurring in the city can be influenced via the Smartphone > City Map > Manage City > Fire Prevention Rate setting. Lowering this rate increases the likelihood of fires starting from electronics.
Dangers and Effects of Fire
- Spreading: Fires typically start small but can spread quickly to nearby furniture and objects, potentially engulfing large areas of a home. Even items like fire extinguishers can reportedly catch fire.
- Damage: Objects caught in the fire will become burnt and unusable. Widespread fires can lead to expensive replacement costs.
- Danger to Zois: Zois caught in a fire can potentially die. It's crucial to manage the situation quickly and safely.
How to Respond to a Fire

Putting out a fire quickly before it spreads is crucial. When a fire starts, Zois have several emergency interactions available when selected:
- Report Fire: The Zoi calls the fire department. They usually arrive quickly, but may be delayed or unavailable if already dispatched to other fires in the city.
- Note: Some players have reported occasional issues with firefighters responding effectively.
- Fire!: The Zoi panics about the fire.
- Evacuate to Safety: The Zoi leaves the immediate vicinity of the fire. This is the safest option, especially for larger fires.
- Put Out Fire: The Zoi attempts to extinguish the fire themselves. This interaction can also be accessed by clicking directly on the fire.
- Warning: This is risky and may expose the Zoi to danger, potentially leading to death. It is generally recommended only for very small fires.
Having a Fire Extinguisher item on the lot may aid in putting out fires, though Zois can attempt the interaction regardless.
Prevention
Taking preventative measures can significantly reduce the risk and impact of fires:
Increase City Fire Prevention Rate
Access the Smartphone > City Map > Manage City menu and increase the Fire Prevention Rate slider to lower the chance of accidental fires occurring throughout the city.
Install Fire Safety Equipment
Purchase fire safety items in Build Mode:
Fire Alarms: Available in various indoor and outdoor types. These alarms detect fire, activating flashing lights and sounds to alert the player and Zois. They do not automatically call the fire department according to most sources, but provide a crucial early warning.
