Deaths

From inZOI Wiki
See also: inZOI, Karma and Ghosts

Zois can die for a variety of reasons. If their Hunger, Sleep, or Energy needs remain low for too long, their health will quickly deteriorate. They might also die from a car accident, an electric shock or even from eating spoiled food. Always keep an eye on your Zoi to help prevent an untimely death. After a Zoi dies, if their Karma isn't high enough, they will become a ghost.

Types of Death

Below are the nine confirmed types of death in inZOI, each with its unique cause and description:

Death Cause Description
Death from Car Accident Involvement in a car accident, such as a hit-and-run or car crash. Traffic-related accidents pose a sudden and significant risk. Zois may die instantly from the impact or succumb to severe injuries, highlighting the need for caution around roads and vehicles.
Death from Disease Contracting and failing to treat a disease. Zois can become ill due to factors such as poor hygiene or environmental conditions. If left untreated without medical care, the disease may progress to a lethal stage. Monitoring health and seeking care are key to survival.
Death from Electric Shock Electrocution while repairing faulty electronics. Attempting to fix broken devices without proper care or skill can result in a fatal electric shock.
Death from Lack of Recognition Severe loneliness or absence of social recognition. Emotional well-being is vital. A Zoi isolated from social interaction or lacking acknowledgment may succumb to despair, resulting in a poignant death tied to their mental state.
Death from Lack of Sleep Prolonged deprivation of adequate rest. Extended periods without sufficient sleep exhaust a Zoi, causing rapid health decline. If this need remains unmet, the Zoi collapses and dies from exhaustion, underscoring the importance of rest schedules.
Death from Old Age Natural conclusion of a Zoi's lifespan due to aging. Zois age over time, and upon reaching the end of their natural lifespan, they pass away peacefully.
Death from Pollution Extended exposure to high levels of environmental pollution. Residing in or near heavily polluted areas gradually degrades a Zoi's health. Without relocation or efforts to reduce pollution, this exposure can prove fatal.
Death from Slipping Falling due to a slip, often in hazardous conditions like a wet bathroom. Zois can die from injuries sustained in a fall, particularly on slippery surfaces such as water-covered floors.
Death from Starvation Prolonged failure to consume sufficient food. When a Zoi's hunger need is neglected for an extended period, their health deteriorates, ultimately leading to death. Players must ensure regular meals or access to food sources to avoid this preventable fate.

Murder

During an AMA, a user inquired if players could directly "murder" another Zoi. The developers clarified that there is no explicit "kill" interaction. However, players can indirectly cause a Zoi's death by, for example, starting a house fire. If the occupant fails to escape, they may perish. While this serves as a workaround to simulate a fatal event, the developers neither label it as "murder" nor encourage such actions.

Gameplay Impact

Death in inZOI is permanent—once a Zoi or creature dies, they cease to exist in the game world. Depending on a Zoi's Karma, they may return as a ghost, adding a supernatural layer to the mechanic. The death of a Zoi triggers emotional responses in others, such as sadness or depression, and can disrupt relationships, skills, or storylines tied to the deceased. Natural deaths like old age serve as narrative conclusions, while preventable ones like starvation or accidents challenge players to refine their management skills.
